About the Role

This is a senior leadership opportunity for an experienced property finance professional to lead origination, relationship management, and market development across the region.

As Business Development Lead – North England, you will be responsible for driving new business growth, managing key relationships, and leading a team of Relationship Managers and Assistant Relationship Managers.

You’ll combine strategic leadership with hands-on commercial delivery, ensuring growth is achieved in line with credit, operational, and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a regional team of Relationship Managers and Assistants.

  • Drive origination and relationship development to grow the loan book across the North.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with developers, brokers, and intermediaries.

  • Develop and execute business development strategies aligned with company goals.

  • Ensure robust credit discipline and compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Represent the business across the Northern property finance market.

  • Collaborate with other senior leaders to deliver group-wide growth initiatives.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in property development finance, specialist lending, or commercial real estate funding.

  • Strong market knowledge and established network across the Northern UK property sector.

  • Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to motivate and develop a team.

  • Commercially astute, strategically minded, and risk-aware.

  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
